Here's a copy of an email we got yesteday from a Marine.
I'm not a Republican, I'm not a Democrat nor am I any other label cast upon the citizens of this great
nation. I'm your father, I'm your son, I'm your brother, I’m your husband, I'm your friend, I'm your
neighbor, I'm the few, I'm the proud, I'm a Marine. I'm the faceless man who stands ready and willing
as those that have come before me too make that ultimate sacrifice for your protection and freedom,
should that time come. It saddens me beyond words to bear witness to the country that I love slowly
decay to the forces of corporate greed and political agendas. There is a great threat growing stronger
each day in this country but it does not come from the often cited sources. The great threat that I
speak of is the ignorance, apathy, and moral decay of the people for which it was created and so
many have given their lives. Have we not all seen for many years the rampant corruption, cronyism,
greed, and endless lies spoon-fed to us by a complicit media from the very people to whom we have
entrusted the management of OUR country? Yet millions upon millions of citizens stand idle or choose
to bury their head in the sand while the foundation of our great country that was paid for with the
blood, sweat, and tears of our forefathers is eroded before our very eyes. We watch, we listen,
and we justify as the stripping of our natural born individual rights takes place, and it is spun to
us as necessary for the preservation of those very rights, and yet almost no one see’s a problem
with this. We spout freedom to the world as if it is some unknown unquantifiable force to be
attained or granted to us by a chosen few. When in reality very few of us even bother to
contemplate what real freedom is or the fact that it no longer exists in this country. The nation I
find myself living in is a poor copy of a copy where the people are happily content to live off the
scraps that are thrown to them from the table of power when it is US who built that table they sit
at. We can’t blame the corporate shills or their politician’s that work for them, for this is the nature
of politics to gain control over the populace. We can only blame ourselves for allowing this atrocity
we call our government to continue unchecked. As a nation we can’t be so obtuse as to expect
a corrupt entity that has permeated every aspect of our life’s and has shown time and time again
that it is above the rules, regulations, and laws it forces upon us to limit itself or its power. What
will be the line in the sand that will wake this country up and galvanize thepeople to take back
and restore this nation to the greatness the world once knew and aspired to be.
